The hot towel shave

The ritual

  1. Hot towelTwo minutes under a steamed towel to soften the beard and open the skin.
  2. Pre-shave oilA light oil so the razor glides and nothing tugs.
  3. Warm latherBrushed on by hand from a heated lather machine.
  4. Two passesWith the grain, then across, with a fresh straight-razor blade.
  5. Cold towel & balmCloses it all up. You'll walk out smoother than you came in.
